Guest Article #1: Who am I?
To increase the frequency of articles on this blog, I have decided to post some contributory articles from guest/ghost writers, who're ignited enough to blurt out something creative and useful but aren't as free as I am, right now! :)
As a first guest article, we have a short poem aptly titled "Who am I?". Courtesy a long time pal, it is a fitting tribute to those farmers who we've lost forever. Terse & carefully worded, the writer gives us a glaring insight into the life and thoughts of a farmer- highlighting not only the travails of being one but also the contentment of being a giver, despite all odds.
Who am I?
I’m a son of this soil
But equal to none;
Life’s a do or die
Subsistence is only a pun.
I plough with love
And reap with care
I die everyday
Are you even aware?
I have no face
No identity, no name
For even in my death
Only blame, no fame!
I’m
kicked, slapped
Cheated
and betrayed
But,
my labor’s fruit
Shall
never be delayed.
For
I don’t seek
A
penny or a dime
What
I beg for is
Listen
to my whine.
I
may be poor
But
I’ll die to give
What
I want is
Some
mankind to live.
(Consent is awaited to reveal the poet.)
