What makes Indians Indians?

Indians are very much Indians - Anonymous

If it hasn’t dawned upon you yet, then, believe me, you’re an entirely different genetic recipe that’s definitely not Indian cuisine. Because if you’re a true Indian, then you should have all those ingredients mixed in proper proportions that flavours like India.

So, “what truly defines Indian flavour?” Or “What makes Indians Indians?”

It’s no rocket science.

Being an Indian, one would’ve easily understood by now that we love to nose-pick into lives of our neighbours while we ourselves pretend to be from the most civilized of the creatures.

We sort of enjoy watching those never ever, ever-ever (I love Arnab’s rhetoric) ending soap operas starring hideous crimson hued monsters digitally transmitted from hell into our “idiot box” but don’t care about the strained relationships with the neighbours.

We blurt out nonsense in the name of corruption only to find ourselves paying kickbacks to agents and brokers to jump the queue in a government office.

We curse the government and its faulty policies for all our miseries and bad luck, but we’d never go out to ethically vote for a change.

Our hypocrisy knows no bounds when we read or hear about some inhuman incidents, but don’t give a damn when someone desperately needs help on the road.

We love on-screen love stories, but if it happens in our backyard we condemn such acts and commit honour-killings.

Pray god to shower wealth upon us, but behave like a penny pinching scrooge to pay taxes.

Spit, urinate or litter whenever and wherever, but shout on anyone who does so before our house.

Waste food blindly, but imprecate rising food prices.

Waste water and electricity ruthlessly, but get narked when there is no supply.

Everyone does this? Why me? – Certainly, this is what comes to a layman’s mind, and only to a layman’s mind.

Everyone has flaws, even the author does, but are we working on this? Have we realized that in this incessant shindig that our lives have become, do we have time to ponder over our actions that is, in fact, the reason for our miseries? That the place where we live in is a result of our actions?

Three simple questions to anyone, including me-
1.       If not you, who?
2.      If not now, when?
3.      If not earth, where?

Let’s ponder. Give some thought. Try to work for betterment of our lives first and the rest of the world will fall into place.

“Heal The World, Make It A Better Place.”

I wish others to realize their importance in this society
